The U.S. Open of Surfing is a week long surfing contest held annually in Huntington Beach every summer. The contest is held on the south side of the Huntington Beach Pier.

The first U.S. Open was held in 1959 and was then called the West Coast Surfing Championship. In 1964 it became known as the United States Surfing Championship, then the name changed again to the OP Pro in 1982. In 1994 the event was renamed to its present day name: The U.S. Open of Surfing.

In recent years, the event has been combined with other beach games, such as Volleyball Championships, X-games, and motorcross events. The events draw tens of thousands of visitors from around the world to Huntington Beach.

The 2010 U.S. Open of Surfing will start July 31, 2010 and proves every year to be an enjoyable and unforgettable experience!
